four score & seven years ago

as i was driving on saturday i was thinking about the evening exactly seven short years ago, february 13, 2003.

on that cold thursday night, i was sitting at my best friend's (maren) house trying to decide what outfit of hers to wear the next night. it was a very important decision, since the boy in my math class, whom i had been obsessing over, finally asked me on a date. our first date. on valentine's day.

as we were lost in our giddy, late-night conversation, i receive a text message. it was the cute boy from my math class. at exactly 12:00am, i read, "I JUST WANTED TO BE THE FIRST TO WISH YOU A HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!" *yes, i remember the text was in all caps*

seven years later, i am so glad i was able to spend this weekend with both maren, and my math class crush!

i got to meet this little twirp, lucy. she is such a doll!

i hope you all had a fantastic ♥ day.

She is such a twirp! So turns out she really wasn't feeling good, so that's why she was so ornery! She's been throwing up, poor thing!

Anyway, thanks so much for coming down. We always love having you guys around!

Funny I didn't know you had Math class with Ryan;)

Just Kidding. That is really a cute story. You know that you got to meet Lucy before her favorite aunt. That really doesn't seem fair. It was fun to catch up on your blog.

That's so sweet!! I too, remember that Valentine's Day seven years ago!! I opened the door, and a cute boy with long hair was there with gifts (including a purple north face jacket). I couldn't believe this guy was here for you! So why you were out on a spectacular date, I got to spend the evening home on the couch!! WTH??? Love you two!!

What a cute story! I loved the picture of you in your last post, you are so cute and little! That's the McCall I remember :o)! Time just flies by so fast!

Oh, Nate is in Erie, PA...his wife is in Medical School there...and he actually works in NY in some sort of marketing....

And Jill & Shaun used to be my neighbors in South Ogden! In fact, they were primary teachers/scout masters when I was in the Primary Presidency. Such a fun couple! How do you know them? Such a small world!!

Hope all is well in PA. One of these days when life settles down a bit, we'll have to get together and catch up on life....
