Exciting or Scary? How 'bout both.

It's official... we are home owners! How do I feel about it? I feel huge relief that the process is O-V-E-R! I'm sorry that sounds so pessimistic, but it has been quite the ordeal! It's time to put that behind us and get excited for the new step in our lives! I'm excited to decorate!

It's a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath. Oh and you don't even know the best part yet. Drumroll please............................... It has a dishwasher! I can't wait to find out what I will do with all of my spare time!

AND, that's not all. I won't have to pull out my ironing board for more kitchen-counter space! That's right - no more crumbs on our ironed clothes! Woot!

Now I just have to figure out how we're going to convince our families to move to Pittsburgh!

Oh Bring Me A Home

Even though the circumstances weren't ideal, we had ourselves a great time spending time and getting to know Tannon's dad's side of the family over the past few days. Tannon's grandmother passed away and we were able to attend her funeral in San Diego. It was a beautiful service. She was in the Navy, so it was really neat to see the performances that were held. The funeral was outside, right by the ocean and it was absolutley beautiful! What a great tribute to Grandma Irene Newland. My darling father-in-law (far right) with his sisters and their father.

Grandpa Newland is freaking hilarious. My cheeks were hurting after spending five minutes with him. He is VERY hard of hearing, so the weekend consisted of a lot of yelling. I got a headache every day, but loved every minute of it.We love you, Grandma!

oh yes. yes i did.

I busted out the ice cream machine. Here is what I made:

*Sorry for the super crappy pic*

Marshmallow Ice Cream

For 4 quarts:

4 Tbs. vanilla
4 cups milk
80 large marshmallows
2 pints whipping cream

Place the marshmallows and milk in a heatproof bowl, heat until melted. Remove from heat, add vanilla and let cool. When mixture is thoroughly cooled and beginning to thicken, fold in whipped cream until thick but not stiff. Pour into the ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer's instructions for freezing.

The Blue Boar

Every year for our anniversary, we stay a night at a Bed & Breakfast in Midway. I have absolutely loved this tradition.

We were able to hit these outlets in Park City,

Eat at this lovely restaurant in Heber,

Read all sorts of fun things in our room, next to the fireplace,

Watch (or fall asleep to) this movie - which I was told was lame, in case you were wondering. Poor Tannon gets stuck watching a chick flick, one that I choose of course, all by his lonesome,

Eat a FIVE course breakfast,

Which concluded with a much needed nap before check out!

I just love this little fella! Happy THIRD anniversary, Babe!

Me? Shoes?

I'm throwing a shoe party. Why, you ask? Can't think anyone who could get further from being stylish than McCall? It's true. I will tell you why I am throwing a SHOE PARTY. My darling cousin Alana & her friend have started a business called CRAVE. Honestly, I couldn't NOT throw a shoe party. Their shoes are by FAR the cutest shoes I've ever seen from any shoe party. Shoes starting at only $15! If you can't trust my opinion in style (don't blame you), I promise you can trust my cousin, Alana.
The party is going to be on Saturday, March 21st from 11-2. It's an open-house so you can stop by whenever you want and stay for as little or as long as you want. The address is: 1591 N. 125 W. Layton, UT 84041. EVERYONE is invited. Bring your friends & family. I promise you won't want to miss it.

Hearty Thursday

This is what I woke up to this morning.

Yes, the strawberries are perfectly sliced. Yes, those bananas are cut into hearts. What a guy.

Does anyone Twit?

So, I just signed up for an account over at Twitter. I wanted to see what all of the hype was about and I haven't quite figured it out. Do any of you have a twitter account? I need help. Apparently you can stalk Ashton Kutcher.
