Oh Bring Me A Home

Even though the circumstances weren't ideal, we had ourselves a great time spending time and getting to know Tannon's dad's side of the family over the past few days. Tannon's grandmother passed away and we were able to attend her funeral in San Diego. It was a beautiful service. She was in the Navy, so it was really neat to see the performances that were held. The funeral was outside, right by the ocean and it was absolutley beautiful! What a great tribute to Grandma Irene Newland. My darling father-in-law (far right) with his sisters and their father.

Grandpa Newland is freaking hilarious. My cheeks were hurting after spending five minutes with him. He is VERY hard of hearing, so the weekend consisted of a lot of yelling. I got a headache every day, but loved every minute of it.We love you, Grandma!

Like you said, the reason you were there was not ideal, but what a beautiful place!! And I just asked Dustin if he ever met Grandpa Newland, he said, "Oh yeah." I asked him if he was funny and he said, "Freaking hilarious, seriously one of the funniest guys I've ever met." I have never met him, but considering the Newland mens' senses of humor, and especially that picture of him, I'm giggling just thinking about him!

What a cute little Grandpa! Your trip looks like it was great even though the circumstances might not have been. I'm glad you were able to go though!

Wow, that cemetery is beautiful! Funerals can be sad but also a joyous thing for people who've lived a long a happy life. She is now in a better place. I'm glad you guys were able to go and enjoy time with family.

Just wondering- Is Tannon wearing your headband and the beach? And Mogley carrying your purse? LOL- Looks like we need to find them some of their own accessories. ;-) I've missed you. You need to come home soon, while this is still your home.

I'm sad I missed it- Brinton said some of the stories were great that Grandpa Newland told. I was on the phone with Brinton for a few minutes once and I could hear him screaming in the background- I started getting a bit of a headache from that alone but totally wish I had been there to get to know him better. It looks absolutely beautiful and that picture of Brinton makes me remember how much I missed him when you guys were gone! Let's all do a fun trip before you go- since I'm missing out on yet another one... Havasupai! Glad you went and had a good time. You're beautiful!
