Crockpot Chili

It feels as though we are in the heart of December again with all of this snow! Here is a recipe for some crockpot chili, if you're into that thing. I made it a couple of days ago and it was super easy and very delicious. I recommend breadsticks with it. Enjoy.

Crockpot Chili

2 onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic (I use the minced kind that comes in a jar)
1 lb. lean hamburger
2 Tbs. chili powder
cumin to taste (I leave this out)
2 cans (16 oz. ea.) tomatoes
2 cans tomato soup
2 cans kidney beans, drained
salt and pepper to taste
optional: shredded cheese and/or sour cream for topping

Cook onions and garlic in 2 Tbs. oil until onions are yellow. Add hamburger and cook until browned. Stir in chili powder and optional cumin; cook 2 minutes more. Meanwhile, in crockpot, combine remaining ingredients. Stir in browned meat mixture. Cover and cook on Low setting for 8-10 hours.

Top with optional shredded cheese and/or sour cream, if desired.

Note: This can be made on top of the stove, too. Let it cook for 1 hour, but stir, so it doesn't stick to the bottom (this is the nice part of using a CP. . . no need to worry about sticking).

Thanks for the recipe. I have to tell you that I found your taco soup recipe on here and I make it all the time and love it! It is so easy, which is right up my alley!

This looks really yummy. I am going to have to try this, especially with all this nasty snow again! I had a funny thing happen last night - I saw Missy in our gym class. What a small world!!

Well actually, Shaun and I haven't rode for quite a while because of the house and what not. But when we lived in South Ogden, we would go up to Mt. Green a lot and ride in the Morgan. That is nice because the roads aren't too busy. Once the snow clears, we will probably ride a lot out here by our house because we can go quite a while on some back roads.

I love Jackie!! I seriously only like going to her classes. She kicks my butt and I love how she teaches. You will have to come with Missy again.

Don't feel bad about "Shawn". The poor guy never gets his name spelled correctly! :) I think he has gotten used to it over the years. We should get together sometime!

Hey that is the first chili recipe that sounds yummy and easy enough that I might actually make it!! I normally hate chili because it has so many other things in it like chunky tomatoes and other chunky things besides beans and meat but yum!!! Thanks girl I will be making this one soon!

I noticed after I said it that it does call for tomatoes but I think I could just puree them instead lol! I will still try it!

I definitely want to make this. Crock pot cooking is the best. I make stuff up. It's fool-proof! Except last night i tried to make cobbler and it was weird....
